Vietnamese company ROX Group plans to invest $4.5 billion in four urban development projects in Uzbekistan. The initiatives were presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the Bukhara region.

The projects will span a total area of 285 hectares and involve the development of residential and commercial infrastructure designed to accommodate 115,000 people. Two projects are planned for the Bukhara region, while the other two will be located in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district and Samarkand, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Uzbek president's press service.

Construction has already started on new residential developments in Bukhara district, covering 65 hectares, and in the city of Bukhara, covering 25 hectares. The projects will feature high-rise residential buildings designed to accommodate 30,000 people, as well as hotels, business centres, retail facilities, and businesses offering services and leisure activities.

The project in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district aims to establish a modern urban environment. In Samarkand, the company has proposed developing infrastructure around an existing tourist complex.

The investor has also put forward a proposal to establish an industrial zone in the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region.

Mirziyoyev approved the proposed concepts and instructed the relevant agencies to work with the company to conduct a detailed assessment of the infrastructure requirements and mechanisms needed to implement the projects. He also emphasised the importance of applying advanced urban planning solutions.
