Uzbekistan and the US are expanding their economic partnership, with both countries unveiling new plans to boost investment, trade, and industrial cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.
Uzbek Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met on June 8 with US Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Fogel to discuss the future of bilateral trade, investment, and industrial collaboration, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.
During the talks, officials highlighted that the US remains one of Uzbekistan’s key economic partners. Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeded $1 billion in 2025, underscoring the growing strength of their economic relationship.
A major focus of the meeting was the implementation of joint investment projects and deeper cooperation in energy, mining, transportation, agriculture, finance, and digital technologies. The two sides also explored opportunities to expand collaboration in innovation, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and business development initiatives.
One of the key outcomes of the negotiations was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and the U.S. Commercial Service.
The agreement aims to support regional business delegations, strengthen interregional cooperation, expand business-to-business connections, and facilitate the launch of new investment projects.
Officials from both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and advancing new joint initiatives designed to drive economic growth, attract investment, and foster innovation.
