Uzbekistan, US Reaffirm Commitment to Peace in Afghanistan

Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, held discussions with Mary Bischoping, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Afghanistan.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in maintaining a regular dialogue aimed at promoting a peaceful resolution to the situation in Afghanistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Particular attention was paid to issues of international and regional security.

The two parties also discussed expanding cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism. They exchanged views on current challenges and expressed readiness for further engagement.
