Armenia is expanding its defense cooperation with the United States as part of a broader strategy to diversify its military suppliers and reduce reliance on a single partner.

Armenia's ambassador to Washington, Narek Mkrtchyan, said Yerevan is pursuing a diversification policy aimed at strengthening the country's strategic independence, The Caspian Post reports via Axios.

The ambassador said that Armenia now sources various technologies from more than seven countries, including the United States, as it broadens its international partnerships.

He added that the diversification strategy also extends to energy supplies and the country's artificial intelligence sector by expanding its network of partners and clients.

Mkrtchyan said that Armenia was strengthening its sovereignty and seeking to become more independent.
