Armenia Reports Two West Nile Fever Cases in 2025 Amid Rising Temperatures

Armenia has confirmed two cases of West Nile fever (WNF) this year, a mosquito-borne viral infection.

The first case of 2025 was identified on June 3, The Caspian Post informs via Armenian media.

Health authorities emphasize that the current epidemiological situation remains stable across the country.

Nevertheless, the European health system warns of a heightened risk of mosquito-borne disease transmission due to rising temperatures and the global increase in heat levels. Officials also note that approximately 80 per cent of WNF infections are asymptomatic, meaning many cases may go unnoticed.
