Armenian Police Launch Major Yerevan Raids After Deadly Shooting

Armenia's law enforcement agencies have launched extensive searches at approximately 40 locations in Yerevan as part of a continuing criminal probe, officials confirmed.

Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in coordination with the Investigative Committee, are conducting investigative operations linked to a criminal case opened after a series of violent incidents in the Armenian capital on February 18, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

According to the ministry, the case includes charges of murder, attempted murder, hooliganism, and illegal arms trafficking. Authorities have so far withheld information regarding suspects or possible motives.

In an official statement, the Investigative Committee said the searches are intended to “clarify all circumstances surrounding the crimes and ensure accountability for those responsible.”

The large-scale operation follows a February 18 shooting in Yerevan that resulted in one fatality and left nine others injured, raising public alarm and prompting an immediate criminal investigation.
