Armenia’s Investigative Committee has completed the preliminary investigation into a criminal case involving abuse of official powers by former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan in the distribution of apartments.

Armenia’s Military Investigative Department said that the investigation uncovered factual evidence indicating that Ohanyan, while serving as defense minister, exceeded his official powers with the assistance of members of the Armenian Defense Ministry’s Central Housing Commission, infoteka24 reports.

The actions caused significant damage to the rights and legitimate interests of several individuals.

Following a decision by the supervising prosecutor, a public criminal case was initiated against Ohanyan under Part 1 of Article 441 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, concerning abuse of official position, authority or influence by an official.
