Two people were injured in a shooting incident in Arabkir district in Armenia's capital Yerevan.

The victims were hospitalized after the shooting, while one suspect has been detained as part of the ongoing criminal investigation, The Caspian Post reports via Armenia Today.

Prosecutors have opened a case on charges including attempted murder, hooliganism, and illegal possession of weapons.

The shooting was preceded by a collision involving Mercedes, Jeep, and Opel vehicles. Police responding to the scene found several damaged cars and traces of blood as investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
