Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the country is discussing the appointment of a new special envoy for the normalization of relations with Türkiye.

“The decision regarding the special envoy has not yet been made. In our communication format with Türkiye, we need to determine how we will continue the work, with what logic and in what format, in order to make the relevant decisions. Discussions on this issue are currently underway,” Pashinyan said, Armenpress reports.

The position became vacant after Ruben Rubinyan, Armenia’s former Special Envoy for Normalization Talks with Türkiye, was nominated by the ruling Civil Contract party as its candidate for speaker of the 9th convocation of Armenia’s National Assembly.
