Russia has reportedly demanded that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan abandon steps targeting Russian capital, including the interests of Russian Railways (RZD) and Gazprom, and avoid taking action against Russia’s 102nd military base in Armenia.
Moscow has also called on Yerevan to reconsider its push for closer ties with the European Union, stop pursuing pro-Russian politicians and appoint a deputy prime minister acceptable to the Kremlin, according to Armenia Today.
Hraparak linked the reported demands to earlier reports that Russia could halt natural gas supplies to Armenia from November 1.
It also interpreted Pashinyan’s recent contacts with the leadership of Rosatom and Russian Railways as possible signs that Yerevan may be making concessions to Moscow.
