A delegation from the Council of the European Union’s Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST) is planning to visit Azerbaijan following its trip to Armenia.

The visit is expected to focus on EU-Azerbaijan relations and regional issues and is part of the EU’s regular dialogue and cooperation with partners in the region, according to Report.

The COEST delegation recently visited Armenia, where it held talks with Armenian officials on the Armenia-EU relationship, implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Strategic Agenda for the EU-Armenia Partnership, security cooperation and regional transport connectivity.

Armenian officials also briefed the delegation on steps toward institutionalizing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and opportunities for regional cooperation following the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus.

COEST prepares and coordinates the Council of the EU’s work on relations with Eastern European and Central Asian countries, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, and helps prepare the Council’s positions on political issues concerning these states.
