Air Serbia has officially launched direct flights connecting Azerbaijan's capital Baku and Belgrade, marking a new step in air connectivity between the two countries.
The inaugural service was launched on May 3, with flights scheduled twice a week. Departures from Belgrade will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, while flights from Baku are set for Thursdays and Sundays, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The launch ceremony for the first Belgrade-Baku flight was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Serbia Kamil Khasiyev, along with Serbian officials including Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic, Minister of Sports Zoran Gajic, and Minister of Culture Nikola Selakovic.
Representatives of Air Serbia, media, and invited guests also attended the event, highlighting the significance of the new route in strengthening travel, tourism, and business ties between Azerbaijan and Serbia.
