Azerbaijan and Belarus Discuss Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation

On Monday, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Dmitry Pinevich, the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Dmitry Pinevich presented his credentials to the Azerbaijani FM, The Caspian Post reports via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the incoming ambassador of Belarus and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the discussions focused on the issues of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Belarus.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of a strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The two highlighted the significant role of high-level contacts, reciprocal visits, and dialogues on international platforms in strengthening intergovernmental relations.

They described Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to the liberated territories as part of his state visit to Azerbaijan on May 17 last year as a strong indicator of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The parties described the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus across various domains, including political, economic, trade, scientific, educational, cultural, tourism and other spheres, as encouraging, noting that the steps taken to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries have made a significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

The two stressed the significant role of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

They also highlighted the close cooperation between the two countries within regional and international organizations, including the UN, the CIS, and the Non-Aligned Movement, emphasizing the importance of continuing mutual support within these organizations.

Ambassador Dmitry Pinevich expressed his satisfaction with starting his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. He noted that he would spare no effort to further develop cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
