Azerbaijan Eases Visa Rules for 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix Visitors

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree making it easier for foreign nationals and stateless people to travel to Azerbaijan for the 2025 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Under the presidential order, from August 25 to September 30, visitors attending the event can obtain a visa upon arrival at any of Azerbaijan’s international airports, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

To qualify, travelers must present one of the following:

Proof of permanent accreditation from Formula One Management Limited or the International Automobile Federation (FIA)

Accreditation with the Baku City Circuit Operations Company

A ticket for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Baku or documentation confirming ticket purchase

The decree also directs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Formula One Management, FIA, and relevant foreign authorities to be notified about the simplified visa process.

Information on the visa-on-arrival procedure and the option to obtain electronic visas via “ASAN Visa” will be made available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, as well as the websites of Azerbaijan’s embassies and consulates abroad.

The State Migration Service will ensure that airlines operating flights to Azerbaijan are informed about the visa rules for event attendees.
