Kazakhstan Proposes Wheat Exports to Israel Through Azerbaijan and Georgia

Kazakhstan has proposed supplying food-grade wheat to Israel through transport routes crossing Azerbaijan and Georgia, as the country seeks to expand its agricultural exports to the Israeli market.

The proposal was discussed during the 10th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Israel Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture.

Samат Tenbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan’s National Food Contract Corporation (Prodcorporation), said the company was ready to consider long-term contracts for supplying between 200,000 and 500,000 tons of food-grade wheat, as well as other agricultural products, depending on Israel’s market demand.

Logistics remains one of the key challenges to expanding exports.

As potential delivery routes, Kazakhstan proposed using the transport corridor through Azerbaijan and Georgia, alongside alternative routes involving Baltic Sea ports.

The proposed routes could provide additional opportunities for Kazakhstan to strengthen agricultural trade with Israel and expand the use of regional transport corridors.
