On September 10, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono.

The meeting focused on Azerbaijan-EU cooperation, prospects for bilateral partnership, the regional situation, and efforts to advance peace and stability in the South Caucasus, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The sides highlighted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and contacts in advancing the Azerbaijan-EU agenda and expanding cooperation in various areas.

Discussions also focused on further strengthening the institutional and legal framework of Azerbaijan-EU relations, completing negotiations on the Partnership Priorities document, and the prospects for launching negotiations on a new bilateral agreement.

The sides discussed efforts to ensure peace and security in the South Caucasus, as well as measures aimed at advancing the normalization process and confidence-building between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The significance of the August meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Bishkek in advancing the regional peace agenda was emphasized.

The sides also exchanged views on developments in the energy and transport and communications sectors in the region, along with other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
