Azerbaijan Extradites Indian Drug Trafficking Suspect

Azerbaijan has extradited an Indian national wanted internationally for allegedly organizing the illegal trafficking of 354 kilograms of heroin.

According to Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office, Singh Prabhdeep Gurraj, born in 1993, was detained in Azerbaijan, The Caspian Post reports.

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes later examined and approved India’s request for his extradition.

The handover was carried out in line with the bilateral extradition agreement signed between the two countries in 2013. Escorted by a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service under the Ministry of Justice, the accused was transferred to the relevant Indian authorities.
