A wanted suspect has been extradited to Uzbekistan after being detained abroad in a coordinated international operation.

Police officers have brought a Turkish citizen back to Uzbekistan from Peru after he was wanted in connection with large-scale fraud, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Uzbekistan.

The suspect was detained through cooperation with Interpol and later transferred to Uzbek authorities.

Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry said the man is accused of committing fraud on a particularly large scale and will face criminal proceedings in the country.
