On September 28, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf met with Alessandro Bernini, CEO of Italy's MAIRE Group.

During the meeting, the sides noted the dynamic development of the energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, The Caspian Post reports, citing SOCAR.

They emphasized that SOCAR’s activities in Italy, including its acquisition of shares in Italiana Petroli, demonstrate the successful cooperation between the two countries.

The parties also highlighted the effective partnership that SOCAR and MAIRE have established over the years in the refining and petrochemical industries.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the petrochemical sector, as well as opportunities to implement new joint projects in areas of mutual interest.
