Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has highlighted a series of new agreements covering sectors ranging from technology to pharmaceuticals.

"Within the framework of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, important agreements were reached with international partners across technology, energy, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, finance, and water management," Jabbarov wrote on X.

"The cooperation agenda includes partnerships with Microsoft on artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity and digital capabilities; with Vietnam’s ROX Group on construction and renewable energy; and with Inovest AFEZCO on establishing new high-value-added production in the Alat Free Economic Zone. New investment projects were also advanced through the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund with AGROFERT, Vetal and Saneca Pharmaceuticals in agriculture, food production, veterinary vaccines and pharmaceuticals, alongside cooperation with iCsquared on plantation and processing projects. In the financial sector, cooperation with the Azerbaijan-Oman Direct Investment Fund envisages investment in Azer-Turk Bank, while SOCAR, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan and Esyasoft will explore opportunities for the local production of water meters. These initiatives demonstrate the growing diversification of Azerbaijan’s investment agenda and create new opportunities for technological development, local production, job creation, import substitution, and stronger international economic partnerships," he added.
