Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan Sign Cooperation Protocol to Expand Strategic Partnership

Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have signed a new cooperation protocol covering key areas of bilateral collaboration, marking another step in strengthening strategic ties between the two countries.

The agreement was signed during the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, The Caspian Post reports via Jabbarov's message on X.

"During our working visit to Turkmenistan, we participated in the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission together with Nokerguly Atagulyyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Co-Chair of the Commission. We highlighted the initiative to establish the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Business Council as an important platform for expanding economic cooperation, strengthening business ties, and diversifying export opportunities between our countries. Following the meeting, we signed a protocol providing for strengthened partnership in trade and economy, energy, transport, agriculture, food security, environmental protection, water management, and other priority areas," Jabbarov wrote.
