Azerbaijan Set to Welcome Leading Chinese Tourism Professionals at China Visitor Summit

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid has announced that the China Visitor Summit will be held in Baku this November, a B2B (business-to-business) platform that for more than a decade has connected Chinese buyers with international travel destinations.

Sengstschmid made these remarks during the ongoing training in Baku titled “Preparing for the Chinese Tourism Market”, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“Hosting this prestigious event in Azerbaijan for the first time will allow us to welcome 50 leading Chinese buyers, including tour operators and tourism professionals, through workshops, B2B meetings, and a familiarization tour across our regions,” he said.

He noted that this autumn, Azerbaijan’s tourism promotion efforts will culminate in two major roadshows and destination presentations across eight Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Chongqing.

“These partners will have the opportunity to experience Azerbaijan firsthand. Another key initiative is guide training. Starting this autumn, we are launching a program in collaboration with the Confucius Institute to prepare a new generation of Mandarin-speaking guides in Baku and nationwide. A third step, extending beyond this year, is the planned opening of an Azerbaijan Tourism Board office in China. This will strengthen our presence and further promote the ‘Destination Azerbaijan’ brand,” he added.
