In July 2025, Azerbaijan ranked 81st out of 153 countries for high-speed internet, with an average speed of 82.58 Mbps, according to the Speedtest Global Index.
The country’s fixed broadband speed doubled compared to the previous year, rising from 40.65 Mbps, The Caspian Post informs per local media.
Global leaders in fixed broadband include Singapore at 386.96 Mbps, while Syria recorded the lowest speed at 3.29 Mbps.
For mobile internet, Azerbaijan took 56th place among 104 countries with an average speed of 74.76 Mbps, slipping one position from June. The United Arab Emirates led with 584.97 Mbps, and Bolivia was last at 14.7 Mbps.
In Baku, the city’s fixed broadband speed improved by three positions compared to June, reaching 83.27 Mbps and placing 112th among 198 cities. Abu Dhabi topped the city ranking at 353.22 Mbps, while Aleppo was at the bottom with 2.73 Mbps.
Baku also saw a rise in mobile internet, climbing four spots to 83rd among 148 cities, with an average speed of 93.16 Mbps. Al Rayyan (Qatar) led the city ranking for mobile internet at 581.31 Mbps, and La Paz (Bolivia) recorded the lowest at 11.12 Mbps.
