Azerbaijan, Türkiye Discuss Strategic Alliance, Syria Situation

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fida on the margins of the 11th Summit of the Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) in Cairo.

During the conversation, Fidan conveyed his congratulations to Bayramov on the election of Azerbaijan as a member of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The meeting saw discussions on issues arising from the brotherly relations and strategic alliance between the two countries, as well as the current situation in Syria.

The two also conversed on possible areas of cooperation between the two countries, as well as plans for humanitarian assistance in Syria.
