Azerbaijan, US Discuss Bilateral, Regional Cooperation in High-Level Meeting

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State, to discuss key aspects of bilateral and regional cooperation.

The talks focused on Azerbaijan-US relations, the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a Strategic Working Group to prepare the Charter on Strategic Partnership, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and shared regional and international security concerns, The Caspian Post informs via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Both sides reviewed the history of Azerbaijan-US relations and explored opportunities for collaboration in the security and energy sectors. They emphasized that the high-level visit and engagements held in August played a crucial role in strengthening bilateral ties.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of historic agreements reached in Washington, which advanced the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda, including the initialing of the peace treaty and steps to dismantle remaining structures from past conflicts.

Additional issues of mutual interest were discussed, underscoring the ongoing strategic dialogue between Azerbaijan and the US.
