Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with representatives of the US Certified Trade Mission for the Middle Corridor, emphasizing the historical significance of the August 8 Washington discussions and agreements involving the presidents of Azerbaijan and the US and the prime minister of Armenia.
The accords were praised for contributing to regional peace and progress, while also opening new opportunities for Azerbaijani-US cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The participants underscored the importance of a project ensuring seamless connectivity between Azerbaijan’s western regions and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The discussion also highlighted Azerbaijan’s efforts to operationalize the Middle Corridor, including strategic initiatives such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and the Alat Free Economic Zone.
Bayramov further emphasized Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in Europe’s energy security, noting that Azerbaijani natural gas currently reaches 14 countries. The meeting also addressed Azerbaijan’s partnerships with neighboring Caspian and Central Asian countries, as well as large-scale projects to develop and transfer renewable energy to Europe, including the construction of the Black Sea submarine power cable. Other mutual interests were also discussed.
