Sameddin Asadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, held a meeting in Dubai with Botond Szebeny, Secretary General of PostEurop, and Elena Fernández Rodríguez, Chairwoman of the PostEurop Board of Directors, during the 28th Universal Postal Congress, the highest decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
During the meeting, support was expressed for Azerbaijan’s bid to join the UPU’s Postal Operations Council and Administrative Council, The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.
The parties emphasized the importance of international collaboration in the postal sector, discussing innovative approaches to postal services and opportunities for digitalization.
PostEurop officials also proposed holding the organization’s General Assembly in Azerbaijan next year.
