Azerbaijani Joins 3rd Session of UN-Habitat Executive Board

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev is participating in the third session of the Executive Board of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), held at the UN-Habitat Headquarters (UNON) in Nairobi.

The delegation includes representatives of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

According to the State Committee, on the first day of the session, the participants joined discussions on organizational, financial, programmatic and administrative matters. The meeting also featured a statement by the Co-Chairs of the Open-Ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the UN-Habitat resolution “Adequate Housing for All”.

Anar Guliyev presented the positions of Azerbaijan and Somalia, newly elected co-chairs of the Working Group on "Adequate Housing for All". The co-chairmanship mandate was granted to the two countries under a decision adopted at the second session held in October 2025.

He emphasized the Working Group’s contribution to global housing policy, outlined the main directions Azerbaijan and Somalia will pursue in the upcoming period, and briefed participants on the outcomes of the second session, the progress made, and the priorities for the next phase.
