The sides highlighted the historic importance of the Washington Peace Summit held on August 8, 2025, the Joint Declaration signed by Aliyev and Pashinyan and witnessed by US President Donald Trump, as well as the initialling of the agreed text of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to Azertac.

The sides pointed to several practical developments as examples of the dividends of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

These include Azerbaijan’s exports of petroleum products to Armenia, the transit of grain and other goods from third countries through Azerbaijani territory to Armenia, and the establishment of trade ties between the two countries.

Aliyev and Pashinyan also welcomed contacts between their business communities and discussed opportunities to expand mutually beneficial economic, trade and energy cooperation.

The two sides emphasized the important role of the relevant state commissions responsible for the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border.
