Baku Says Armenia’s Removal of Territorial Claims Key to Peace

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that Armenia’s removal of territorial claims from its Constitution is essential for achieving lasting peace.

Speaking at the 32nd Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna, he said that eliminating these claims would allow both countries to sign and ratify the initialed bilateral agreement, clearing the way for irreversible peace, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.

He emphasized that the timely realization of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) is of utmost importance.

“This multi-modal connectivity route, encompassing railroads, highways, and other communications, must ensure unimpeded links between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, with reciprocal connectivity benefits for Armenia. As repeatedly stated, opening these communications not only makes peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan sustainable but also generates significant benefits on a much larger scale,” he added.
