Urban development projects are being used to test new approaches to city planning of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 17 to 22 May, reads an article published by Euronews, The Caspian Post reports.

Authorities and experts highlight models such as mixed-use development, green planning and integrated infrastructure designed to support daily life, the article says.

Large-scale reconstruction and new city projects are also being used to explore post-conflict recovery and urban design.

"Officials say cooperation between institutions and international partners is central to these efforts. With urban populations continuing to grow globally, these initiatives are expected to contribute to wider discussions on how cities can respond to changing economic, environmental and social pressures," it adds.
