Free practice for the Formula 2 Azerbaijan Grand Prix began in Baku at 10:00 (GMT+4), with drivers taking to the city circuit.

Two qualifying sessions are also scheduled for today. The first will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the second at 2:30 p.m., The Caspian Post reports.

The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix was moved from Sunday to Saturday because of Azerbaijan’s Remembrance Day on September 27, with the entire race-weekend schedule shifted forward by one day.

The Formula 2 round has also been adjusted to accommodate the change and will feature an expanded weekend format.

Baku will host the only Formula 2 round of the 2026 season featuring two feature races during the same weekend. Drivers will complete a 45-minute free practice session on September 24 morning, followed by two consecutive 20-minute qualifying sessions in the afternoon.

The F2 Sprint and first Feature Race will take place on September 25, while the second Feature Race is scheduled for September 26 morning ahead of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
