Minister: Russia to Join CIS Games in Azerbaijan

Russian Minister of Sport Mikhail Degtyarev has announced that a Russian delegation will soon travel to Azerbaijan to take part in the third edition of the CIS Games.

Degtyarev made these remarks during a session of the Eastern Economic Forum, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

“Our delegation is preparing to travel to Baku, where the CIS Games will be held. The Azerbaijani Minister of Sport, Farid Gayibov, personally invited me. I will make decisions regarding my own visit separately,” Degtyarev said.

The CIS Games are scheduled from September 28 to October 8 and will be hosted across seven cities in Azerbaijan, featuring competitions in 23 sports disciplines. The event brings together athletes from CIS member states, promoting sports cooperation and cultural exchange in the region.
