During an official visit to Türkiye, a delegation from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, led by Deputy Minister Anar Aliyev, has met with Türkiye’s Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, where both sides highlighted that, thanks to the efforts of the presidents, bilateral relations have reached the level of a strategic alliance.
The officials praised the successful cooperation and steady progress in the field of social services, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The Azerbaijani deputy minister emphasized the significance of family-based care, highlighting the Ministerial Declaration on Foster Family, developed by the Turkish ministry. He described the document as an important platform for strengthening international collaboration in foster care and expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s initiative.
For her part, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş underlined the importance of purposeful cooperation and regular experience-sharing in social services, particularly within the foster family model.
At the end of the talks, the Azerbaijani deputy minister signed the Ministerial Declaration on Foster Family. The declaration provides for:
the exchange of best practices in foster care,
the designation of June 30 as International Foster Family Day,
the creation of a Working Group on Foster Family with international participation,
and the promotion of the foster family model worldwide, inspired by Türkiye’s “Volunteer Ambassadors of the World Project.”
The document is expected to bolster Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation and contribute to the global development of foster family services.
