Prime Minister of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel has announced that direct charter flights between Azerbaijan and the TRNC could begin in the near future, signaling a new phase in relations between the two sides.
Üstel said significant progress has been made in efforts to establish the charter route following discussions with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and relevant government institutions, The Caspian Post reports via Report.
“We have reached an important stage regarding the launch of charter flights between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Together with the cooperation agreements we plan to sign, I believe we will soon witness the start of regular charter services,” Üstel stated.
He emphasized that the new air connection would serve as more than just a transportation link. He described it as a bridge that could boost tourism, trade, education, and people-to-people ties between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus.
Üstel also expressed confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC will continue strengthening in the coming years, supported by growing cooperation across multiple sectors.
