Speaking at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum on July 13, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the existing broad potential in Azerbaijan-Japan relations.
“I think that both countries already have a good history of partnership. Sometimes, it was more dynamic, sometimes it was less. But nevertheless, we have good experience in cooperation in different areas," the head of state emphasized, The Caspian Post reports.
"Many Japanese companies work in Azerbaijan as contractors in very big industrial sites. I personally participated in the inauguration of some big power plants, which were built by Japanese companies as contractors. We don't have much investments from Japan, but probably it will also happen. So, I think that we can cooperate in a quite broad range of issues, in energy, technology, potentially in defense industry. Because I know that Japan is developing its defense industry, and we do the same. So, we can exchange, how to say, experience, and maybe create some joint manufacturing," President Aliyev added.
