Serbia Eyes Stronger IT Partnership with Azerbaijan

Serbia sees significant opportunities to deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan in the technology sector, with a particular focus on IT, artificial intelligence, digitalization, and robotics.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Serbian Minister for International Economic Cooperation Nenad Popović said the strong political ties between Belgrade and Baku provide a solid foundation for expanding economic collaboration, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

The minister said that dozens of Serbian companies are interested in launching joint projects with Azerbaijani partners, not only within bilateral cooperation but also to enter third-country markets through combined expertise and resources.

“We see enormous potential in new technologies, digital transformation, the IT sector, and everything related to artificial intelligence and robotics,” Popović said.

He emphasized that closer business-to-business engagement is needed to unlock this potential, calling for more meetings between entrepreneurs and additional business forums to connect companies from both countries.

Popović noted that the IT sector offers particularly promising opportunities for collaboration, as both Serbia and Azerbaijan continue to invest in innovation-driven economic growth.

The minister also expressed hope that a new business forum could soon be held in either Belgrade or Baku, assisting to create new partnerships and accelerate joint ventures. He added that small and medium-sized enterprises are expected to play a key role in boosting bilateral trade and economic cooperation in the years ahead.
