Serbia is hopeful that a long-discussed free trade agreement with Georgia will be signed by autumn 2026, marking a significant step toward stronger economic ties between the two countries.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he expects the deal to be finalized before the Wine Vision wine fair in Belgrade, scheduled for October 10-12, The Caspian Post reports via Report.
“I hope that Prime Minister Kobakhidze will have time to make a bilateral visit to Belgrade before Wine Vision, one of Europe’s largest wine exhibitions, and that by then, at the latest, we will sign the free trade agreement,” Vučić said.
The Serbian leader noted that Belgrade and Tbilisi have resolved nearly all outstanding issues during negotiations over the agreement’s terms, paving the way for its completion.
