The 7th World Nomad Games will be held in 2028 in Tatarstan, Russia, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced during the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan had received an official letter from Russia confirming Tatarstan’s readiness to host the next edition of the international sporting and cultural event, Kazinform reports.
The Kyrgyz president expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin and pledged Kyrgyzstan’s full support for organizing the 2028 Games at a high level.
The 6th World Nomad Games are taking place in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6, 2026, with the main sporting and cultural events being held around Issyk-Kul.
The Games celebrate the heritage of nomadic civilizations by bringing together traditional sports, culture and scientific activities.
More than 150 athletes from Kazakhstan are also competing in the sixth edition of the Games, highlighting the strong regional participation in the event.
The World Nomad Games have developed into a major international platform for promoting the cultural heritage and traditions of nomadic peoples while bringing athletes from different countries together.
