A major new energy partnership has been launched in the Caspian region as SOCAR, BOTAŞ, TotalEnergies, and ADNOC signed a 15-year natural gas supply agreement linked to Azerbaijan’s Absheron gas field.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Baku Energy Forum in the presence of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, The Caspian Post reports via Report.
The deal brings together the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Türkiye's BOTAŞ Petroleum Pipeline Corporation, French energy giant TotalEnergies, and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in a long-term partnership aimed at expanding regional gas cooperation.
Under the agreement, new production investments at the Absheron field will enable the delivery of a total of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye beginning in 2029.
