Participants of the second International Youth Forum on Multiculturalism, organized by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), have paid a respectful visit to two of Azerbaijan’s most symbolic sites: the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs.
The visit began at the Alley of Honor, where the delegation laid flowers at the tomb of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people and founder of the modern independent state, The Caspian Post informs, citing local media.
The group also paid tribute to other notable figures, including prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, statesman Aziz Aliyev, and professor Tamerlan Aliyev, honoring their lasting legacies.
The visit continued at the Alley of Martyrs, where the participants commemorated Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, laying flowers to honor their memory.
The forum, held from August 22 to 27 and jointly hosted by BIMC and ICESCO, brings together around 70 youth delegates from over 50 countries under the theme “Youth as Ambassadors of Peacebuilding in a Multicultural Environment.” The week-long program includes panel discussions, interactive sessions, training workshops, and cultural tours in Baku, Khankendi, and Shusha. Delegates are also gaining insight into Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and ongoing reconstruction efforts in recently liberated areas.
