Cambodia aims to strengthen its economic presence in Central Asia by developing its partnership with Azerbaijan, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, said.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Azerbaijan-Cambodia Business Forum in Baku, Kith Meng said Cambodia, as a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is seeking to enter Central Asian markets and deepen its economic integration with the region, according to Report.
“Cambodia, as a member of ASEAN, has set itself the goal of entering the Central Asian market for economic integration, and this is precisely why the country’s head of government visited Azerbaijan,” Kith Meng said.
He explained that the visit is intended to strengthen bilateral ties despite the considerable geographical distance between the two countries and to encourage greater investment flows between Cambodian and Azerbaijani businesses.
Kith Meng said memorandums of understanding had already been signed during the events, while detailed discussions were underway on the scope and priorities of future cooperation.
Key areas under consideration include energy, technology transfer, artificial intelligence development and the integration of supply chains into Eurasian transport corridors, he added.
