Kazakhstan's President Advocates for AI Benefits for Every Citizen

The government of Kazakhstan was tasked to take measures to form data sets based on which the state, businesses and AI enthusiasts will be able to create, train and develop AI models.

"The national language model KazLLM serves as an example of comprehensive approach in this sphere. We trained AI to think, analyze and speak in Kazakh. This significant achievement provides new prospects for promoting the Kazakh language in the digital sphere… The multimodal language model of the Kazakh language, capable of using different types of data simultaneously, is yet to be created," said Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.

The Head of State pointed to the importance of increasingthe knowledge of citizens in AI. As Tokayev noted, the country"s objective to train one million people in AI in 5 years requires special attention. The programs targeting schoolchildren, students, civil servants and entrepreneurs need to receive maximum support.

President Tokayev instructed to implementation of the AI-SANA program to train AI specialists by stage.

The program needs to contribute to the formation of a dynamic ecosystem, combining education, research and startup development. It"s necessary that each Kazakhstani benefits from AI, noted the President.

The government faces the task of adopting measures to implement mechanisms for widespread use of AI among residents.

Kazakhstan has all opportunities to lead innovation and digital technologies. Digitalization and widespread implementation of AI are the key to progressive development of our country, concluded Tokayev.
