Azerbaijan Joins Festival and Turkic World Culture Forum in Uzbekistan

The festival is organized by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture with the support of UNESCO and ICESCO, gathering around 200 cultural figures and performers from over 40 countries, The Caspian Post reports citing Azertac.

Uzbekistan’s Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov emphasized that international events strengthen cultural ties and preserve shared values, while highlighting the importance of the first Forum held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, in 2023.

Speaking at the forum, Minister Adil Karimli noted that cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are flourishing. He stressed the significance of hosting the event in Khiva, bringing together institutions, artists, and media to promote Turkic heritage.

Karimli also recalled the success of the first Forum in Shusha, where key initiatives like the Turkic World Cultural Route project were launched. He underlined that deepening cooperation with Turkic states is a key part of Azerbaijan’s cultural policy, guided by President Ilham Aliyev’s vision.

The festival also features an international conference on modern research and perspectives in Bakhshi art.
