Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway was presented with a copy of the Quran during the London premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada 2”.
The gift was given by a fan, who explained on a widely circulated social media video that he chose it after hearing the actress use the phrase “Insha Allah” in a recent interview, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
“Insha Allah” is an Arabic expression commonly used in Muslim cultures meaning “if God wills.”
The fan said he was inspired by her words and decided to present the book as a gesture of respect. The actress accepted the gift with gratitude.
The phrase had appeared during Hathaway’s interview with People, where the 43-year-old actress reflected on her career and personal growth after more than two decades in Hollywood. She spoke about learning to handle emotional highs and lows more calmly and valuing peace in her life.
“I want to live a long, healthy life, Insha Allah. I hope for that,” she said during the interview.
The moment quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread reactions and discussion online.
Earlier, Hathaway was also named the “most beautiful woman in the world” by People magazine.
