Representatives of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Meet to Discuss Maqom Art

A meeting took place between the Director General of the Uzbek National Maqom Art Center, Avazbek Shomurodov, the Head of the Department of Maqom Performance at the Uzbekistan National Institute of Musical Art named after Yunus Rajabi, Uktam Rasulov, and the Director of the International Mugham Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, Sahib Pashazade.

Issues of further development of cultural cooperation between the two countries, implementation of joint projects, and creative exchange were discussed at the meeting, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

The guest also became familiar with the museum fund of the historical exposition department of the Maqom Center.

It should be noted that in May 2024, during the tour of the Yunus Rajabi Maqom Ensemble in Azerbaijan, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the International Mugham Center of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the visit of Azerbaijani artists, a concert program with the participation of Zabit Nabizade, Khayyam Mammadov, and Sahib Pashazade will be held in the Great Hall of the Uzbekistan National Institute of Musical Art named after Yunus Rajabi.
