The Russian House in Tashkent hosted film screenings as part of the nationwide Cinema Night 2025 anniversary campaign, which attracted audiences from over 35 countries.
Before the screenings began, Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with a video message. She congratulated the audience on the celebration of Russian cinema and emphasized that Cinema Night is becoming an important cultural event that unites not only the regions of Russia but also dozens of foreign countries, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
On this day, audiences in Tashkent were presented with new Russian films:
“The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Yellow Brick Road” (2024, directed by Igor Voloshin) - a family fantasy film that gave children an atmosphere of magic.
“The Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin” (2024, directed by Felix Umarov) - a musical biopic about the fate of the great Russian poet, which sparked public interest.
The campaign was organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. ROSKINO and the Cinema Fund served as operators, with the Russian Culture Fund as co-organizer. The general information partner of the event was Gazprom-Media Holding.
For audiences in Uzbekistan, participation in the campaign became part of an international cultural celebration, offering encounters with the characters of new Russian cinema and the atmosphere of a unified cultural space.
