EBRD to Invest $2.2 Billion in Green Transition Program

On April 3, during a meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso briefed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the progress of the green transition program, in which the EBRD plans to invest two billion euros (US$2.2 billion).

In 2024, the EBRD financed 25 projects worth $935 million, The Caspian Post reports citing Kazakh media.

Tokayev thanked the bank for assisting in Kazakhstan’s banking sector development, from modernizing legislation to promoting fintech and global standards.
