Olzhas Saparbekov, Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Construction, took part in the panel session titled “Industrial Cooperation as a Factor in Sustainable Development of Russia and Kazakhstan,” held as part of the 22nd Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum in Omsk.

During the session, Saparbekov presented current indicators of industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, information on joint investment projects, government support measures for investors, and mechanisms aimed at further developing industrial partnerships, the ministry said in a statement, The Caspian Post reports.

Russia remains one of the three largest investors in Kazakhstan’s economy. By the end of 2025, direct Russian investment in Kazakhstan reached $2.9 billion, while total cumulative investment since 2005 amounted to approximately $29 billion.

The industrial cooperation portfolio between Kazakhstan and Russia includes 177 joint projects with a combined value of $52.7 billion, which are expected to create around 60,000 jobs. Of these projects, 122 initiatives worth $22.4 billion have already been completed.

The discussions also focused on current government support measures for investors, including opportunities provided by special economic and industrial zones, as well as mechanisms for financing cooperative projects within the Eurasian Economic Union.

The parties highlighted the importance of expanding industrial cooperation as a key driver of economic development and strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Russia.
