Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh has hosted President of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi in a high-level meeting where they highlighted the significant growth in the Mongolia-Oman relations and explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in key sectors including trade, economy, investment, mining, agriculture, and renewable energy.
Batmunkh praised the positive outcomes of her official visit to Oman in February 2025, which facilitated the OIA president’s delegation visit to Mongolia, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.
During that visit, meetings with several ministries and agencies helped identify promising areas for future partnership. The Mongolian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to supporting these initiatives.
Al Murshidi highlighted productive discussions held with Mongolia’s Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav and officials from the Ministries of Industry and Mineral Resources, Economy and Development, and Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry. He expressed confidence that the first pilot project under this cooperation would soon commence.
Both sides agreed to explore the creation of a joint investment fund aimed at advancing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, with further consultations planned among relevant institutions.
Earlier on the same day, Gombojav also met with Al Murshidi, underscoring the strong commitment at the highest levels to fostering Mongolia-Oman relations.
